The Spartan Closet is open for business and looking great– students are encouraged to stop in  for gently used clothing items.

Spartan Cafe continues to be open daily at 8am in the cafeteria.  We are so thankful to the support of the McGlinchey family, owner of local Tim Horton’s stores.  This family donates to Spartan cafe from their Dunbar and Hwy 24 store every Tuesday and Thursday.  Students receive fresh bagels and muffins, as well as juice and other items.  The staff and management of Tim Horton’s on Dunbar are so kind and generous, we thank them for their support on behalf of the Spartan community!

We say farewell to Mme McNamara as she prepares for the welcoming of her new baby! Welcome to Jessica Trudel in this French Immersion position for the balance of the year. We know you will love the Spartan community.

The Grade 7/8 Boys’ Vollyball Team capped off a successful season with a birth in the Championship game. Although the team came up a little short in that game, the boys have to be proud of their accomplishments. The team displayed positive growth in their skill level as well as demonstrating positive sportsmanship throughout the season. We hope and expect many of the boys graduating from St. Andrew’s will continue playing volleyball for their respective high schools next year and look forward to having a good core of returning players ready to go for next year’s quest for a championship.

January will see a return to learning and community at St. Andrew’s.  Students are encouraged to get involved in the many activities that are coming.  Art Drop in continues throughout the week during Nutrition Breaks.  Basketball will take off in January for Grade 7 and 8 Students.  Animation Club continues to meet regularly , as does our Chess Club, and Coding Club.  Many thanks to staff for making these groups happen for students.

Many thanks to your St. Andrew’s School Council for organizing and coordinating the Fall Fundraisers!  Poinsettia sales and MacMillan’s orders were run by St. Andrew’s council.  All Funds go to support special programs and improvemnts at St. Andrew’s. Many thanks to Lynn Robb — Council Chair, Gayle Horyn, Hayley Orman, Judith Armstrong, and Jodie Horton for support on school council.  The next School Council meeting is on January 13 at 6:30 for all who are able to attend.

Happy New Year to the Spartan Community!
