Dear Parents and Guardians,

Over the past few years, society has seen an increase in the number of reported cases of young people involved in self/peer exploitation over cell phones, messaging apps, and social network sites.  Your child has been part of lessons and discussions aimed at helping young people avoid such exposure, and to help them make safe choices.

At St. Andrew’s we re seeing an increase in students using their devices in an unsafe or unkind way, which is impacting their social and emotional well being in , and out, of school. We care deeply for the well-being of all students here, and encourage you to participate in the discussion by speaking with your child about this topic as well.

The Canadian Centre for Child Protection offers a resource that we are referring to in many of our lessons here.  Parents are encouraged to refer to protectchildren.ca for m ore information and valuable resources.
